HOW DO I BOOK A TATTOO OR PIERCING?

All piercing appointments are booked via the online booking system, which you can access either on our Booking page, or by clicking here. Simply select which piercing/appointment type you would like, and your preferred date and time. You will then need to create an account, if you don't already have one. We require you to leave your card details, as we will take a £10 fee if you do not show up for your booking.

(If you experience any issues with this booking system, you can send the Facebook page a message, email us or give us a call, and we will be happy to assist you).

Our tattoo artists manage their own bookings, so the best way to book or enquire with a specific artist, is to email/WhatsApp them directly. Please visit their respective page in our "Tattoo" section to find their email address.

If you are unsure which artist you would like, you can either send us an email to overthemoonfarnham@gmail.com (please make sure you include a picture of what you would like, let us know where you want it, and how big you would like it (in cm)), or use our Booking Form.

HOW DO I BOOK WITH A GUEST ARTIST?

All guest artists book their own appointments. Please visit our "Guest Artists" section, on our "Tattoo" page, to see who will be joining us and when. You will find instructions on how to book with each of these artists within their individual information.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Please make sure you are well hydrated, and have eaten at least two hours prior to your appointment.

Drinking alcohol the night before, or the day of, your appointment is not recommended. We reserve the right to refuse any services if you arrive to your appointment under the influence, or we suspect that you are under the influence, of either alcohol or drugs.

Please do not have any fake tan applied to the area you wish to get tattooed or pierced.

Please stay out of the sun prior to your appointment, as we cannot tattoo over sunburn.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You will be required to provide a valid, photo ID for all services. (Minimum age requirements vary for each piercing (please see our "Piercing" page for details) and is always 18 years old for tattoos).

Ensure you are wearing clothing appropriate for your appointment. E.G. If you are getting your navel pierced, wear a top you can easily lift up. If you are getting your leg tattooed, wear shorts or a skirt.

Please bring snack and drinks with you to your appointment, especially if you are being tattooed. We recommend bringing a water and a sugary drink, to ensure you stay hydrated and energised throughout your experience.

CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Piercings

For most piercings, we advise to not use numbing cream. This is because it can constrict/tighten the skin - so the piercing can look "straight" to start with, e.g. a navel piercing being in line with the navel/stomach area. However, once the numbing cream has worn off, and the skin has gone back to normal, the piercing can move, thus no longer appearing "straight".

But, for other piercings, it may not be a problem.

Please always check with your piercer (prior to your appointment date) if you wish to use numbing cream, and they will advise you if/how it will affect the piercing, and if they will still perform the service.

Tattoos

Our artists generally don't mind if you want to use numbing cream for your appointment, provided you have done a patch test/used it before and know you will not have a reaction.

However, please still check with your artist (prior to your appointment date) if you wish to use it. Numbing creams can sometimes cause excess bleeding and colours to dull, so your artist may advise against using it for a specific area/design.

If your artist/piercer has confirmed they are ok for you to use numbing cream, we recommend TKTX Yellow. To purchase, and for instructions on how to apply, please click here.

Please always perform a patch test before applying to large areas, as reactions can occur.

CAN I GET TATTOOED OR PIERCED IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREAST FEEDING?

No. You can not get tattooed or pierced if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Although we adhere to the highest levels of health, safety, and infection control, it is still not advisable to have a piercing or tattoo whilst you are pregnant and/or breast feeding.

CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I AM UNDER 18 BUT HAVE PARENTAL CONSENT?

No. Although most piercings are able to be performed with parental consent, if under a certain age, tattoos are not. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to be tattooed, regardless of whether or not they have parental consent.

CAN I BRING A GUEST/SPECTATOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

If you are getting a piercing, and are under 16, you will need to bring your parent or legal guardian to the appointment with you.

If you are getting a tattoo, we require you to attend your appointment by yourself.

If, for a special circumstance, you feel like you need someone to attend the appointment with you, please discuss with your artist, and they will advise if, this one time, that would be possible.

DO I NEED TO BRING ID TO MY APPOINTMENT?

If you are under 16 and getting a piercing, the parent or legal guardian that you bring with you will be your ID, so you need not bring any other form of ID.

If you are 16+ years and getting a piercing by yourself, or getting a tattoo, you will need to bring a valid, photo ID with you. This will need to be either a driving license/provisional or a passport - something with your photo and date of birth. Birth certificates will not be accepted, as they do not include a photo.

DO I NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT OR CAN I JUST WALK IN?

We are a private studio, so do require you to have a booking. However, if you do turn up, and someone is available, then we can still perform the service.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY NEW TATTOO OR PIERCING?

Please refer to our "Aftercare" page, for all of our recommended aftercare advise.

HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO OR PIERCING COST?

You can see our full list of piercing prices on our "Piercing" page.

Our tattoo artists price their tattoos themselves. They price "per piece", rather than hourly, so will only be able to give you a price once they know what you want, where and how big you want it, and what style you are looking for.

The artist will give you a quote at the time of booking, before they ask you to pay a 50% deposit.

You can also book in for a "day session", which is priced at the artists' discretion.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

All piercings must be paid for in cash, directly after your appointment.

All tattoos will require a 50% deposit when booking, which must be paid in cash at the studio. (Some artists have the means to send you a link, which can be paid online using all major payment methods, e.g. card, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay).

The remaining payment must be made on the day, directly after your appointment, in cash.

(Some artists have a card machine, which accepts cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay).

Always check with your artist, prior to your appointment, which payment methods they accept.

All payments are non-refundable, and can only be transferred if cancelling/rescheduling within 48 hours.
